|
|
I saw this link in another post:
http://www.curtpalme.com/docs/NECXG85_135LC_Brochure.pdf
it talks about XG gamma correction...as far as I could remember there was no such gamma correction on an XG. It still needed a boost of some sorts. Was this just marketing speak, or is there some gamma correction abilities? Maybe in the 2 series (1352 or 852)?

Ben,
It was never implemented in the final production of the version 3. Doug
As in what your thinking gamma is in todays boosters.

You have not read any of my "gamma correction" comments, really?
My PJ has gamma correction just like the XG. It is not the "gamma correction" we want.
Read this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gamma_correction
They type of gamma correction the XG has is just changing the exponent of the equation, thus producing a symmetric gamma curve. What we specifically want is an asymmetrical gamma curve--the XG won't do that.

Oh, maybe it does not have the gamma my PJ has. Even so, if implemented, it is not the "correction" we all seek.

Correct. Not as we know it today. There was a item line in the service mode that could have altered a pre-set but not used.
The doc above is right but not for the gamma we know.
