Does anyone feel if HDDVD is going to fail and if so what internal blueray player do you recommend?

Thanks

If you do not care about making Bluray disks the LG combo drive is not much more money then a Bluray only drive. The Bluray only Pioneer BDC-202BKS is slightly less there are probably others I almost bought one but found the LG instock so I grab it. I feel it is really nice to go to a store and not worry about what format to buy for instance, Shriek 3 is only avaiable on HD-DVD and there are many others, if a movie is available on both I opt for the Bluray just because I feel HD-DVD will not be around that much longer. Newer drives will probably support HD-DVD but it may be just a footnote in the specs.

If HD-DVD does fail it was because of greed, the crazy expensive SD/HD combo packs are silly and I see no need for them and will not buy them.

Mike

I have and would buy the LG drive again, as Mike said it is great to buy or rent a movie and not worry what format is in stock.

Thanks for the info. I just got my Ati 3870 and have a C2D so it does sound like great advice.

Thanks Greg
