Hi Folks,

I have searched for many months & have come across many many conflicting reports. Confused

1) I'm looking for a relaible device to go from a (HDMI/DVI input) HD-DVD player &
upconverting (DVI input) DVD player to
my Pioneer HD53 RPG HDTV
- which supports 720p or 1080i (not 1080p) via component or VGA inputs.

Is the HDFury Blue edition my best bet, or some other "box" type solution?

Will I need a power device?
Will I need a Gamma correction device?
What about white/black crush etc etc
Other issues?
Device key revocation in the future?

2) Also, what info do I have to get (& where) to know my input devices will be "RGB 4.4.4. compliant"??

Thanks for your replys.

Ummm . . . so why didn't you post your questions in the HD-Fury forum?

Probably get more informed answers there.

Get the HDFury.

Key revocation can occur with any of these, but is unlikely.

All source devices must support the correct RGB mode.

Not all HD displays with VGA support 720p and/or 1080i over VGA. Many just support that over component and only "standard" computer resolutions over VGA. This is the point I would check on. If it only supports it over component, you'll need Kim's VGA to component transcoder.

Person99,

Tx for the response - apparently [from others with this (negative synch) RPG] my SD53 can't use any verified solution, as it shifts the picture & the user/sevice menus don't allow for the necessary correction Sad

My set's VGA will accept the proper resolutions natively - but the above problem exists.

Maybe the HDFury + Moome + Kim's VGA to component transcoder might solve it - but at this stage instead of spending $ on a big if is 2nd to just getting another HDTV. I would need to have confirmation that someone with a SD53/58 has gotten it to work without PQ issues.

Again - TX

Why would you need the moome box in there?

You could try a HDMI switcher-->HD-Fury--->Kim's VGA to component trascoder.

Plug your HD-DVD/DVD players into the switcher box.

I have no HDMI inputs/outputs in the loop nor HDCP.

I have the choice of VGA or component only.

Also, as I indicated above, these Pioneer HDTVs are reported not to be able to have a solution.
