Hi

I have a E-home ECP 3000, and I need your help to set it up propelry. I will not put it in my HT yet, I have it in my room now, and want a decent picture on my wall, before i put it in the HT.

Yesterday me and my friend tried to get a picture following the HELP in the proj. The green was unfocused and we couldnt get it any better. So we began on the red, that one had better focus. But we couldnt get them to lie ontop of eachother. The manual said that we had to loosen the B bolts, so that we did, and then we were supposed to move the lens, but that we couldnt do.

And when we pressed "Source" all of our settings disapeared. Sad

Today i thougt I would check how bad the tubes were, so I removed the lensens, and I dont see any wear on them, so I suppose they are pretty good. I will get some pictures later.

Now to my main problem, the picture is jumping, we got rid of that yesterday, but I cant figure out to do that now. I tried V hold and those. Nothing.

I have the lenses removed atm. There are som pots under the rear cover, what are those for?

Please help me Smile

Jumping picture can be fixed by combining your Horizontal and Vertical sync cables (using a T adapter) and plugging them into the H-sync BNC connector.

How do I fix the jumpy picture when I dont have a source connected? Its fine on the top and on the bottom of the picture, but not in the center.

EDIT: I managed to get the picture stable and in focus. But I now have a new problem, if I use Vsync @ auto, the picture has the normal size but theres a black box which goes from bottom to top.

If I have Vsync @ manual, the box disappears but then the picture is too small, I dont see all text.

Please help me Sad

Ok that sounds like the best plan. When you get the cable try running 640 x 480 or 800 x 600 and see what happens.

So I should wait for the cable and then do all the settings? The proj isnt ready to show any images from a source yet, many settings to set first.

Will the cable fix my problems when Im in the "Help" meny doing all the focus settings and etc?

I can't say for sure, but, when setting up a CRT projector it's usualy best to have a stable signal running into first.

I had the same problem with my 4100. With no signal connected, the menu screens were jumpy. Once I hooked to the HTPC they were fine. I use an Extron VGA to RGB converter, and run 720p60, this seems to produce the best image on mine, probably the same on yours.

What am I doing wrong? Give me some tips?

EDIT: Still have the problem with the V hold, if I use it at manual i do not get the whole picture in the menys, but if I run it at auto I do, but then theres a black box going from bottom to top of the picture.. I want to get rid of these problems im having so I can start with the controls Sad My focus in the menys are great, after I adjusted on the pots inside.

Once again, please help me, or give some tips on what I can do, what I do wrong etc, ask if theres something you need to know to help me.

Did you combine the H and V sync?

Keep in mind that a 3000 is now almost 20 years old. Change the Dallas chip, do a hard reset. I have tested and working boards that I can sell you for cheap, my advice is to get a spare V board, waveborm board and RGB input board.

Good news! Very Happy

My problem was very easy to fix, feel kinda stupid that I didnt test that earlier.. Sad

I updated my gfx drivers, downloaded powerstrip so that I could enter a custom Hz, and now I have a picture on my wall from my computer. Running 1280*720 @ 51 Hz. I will be doing all the options this week, hope I get a nice image Smile

More updates coming when I have done something Wink

Be sure to check the individual focus for each tube. Set the electronic focus at 5, and adjust the focus pots for each tube to the best focus. Then you may want to check the astigmatism also. http://www.curtpalme.com/Astig.shtm This can have a big impact on focus. Refer to the ECP layout for position of the rings to adjust. http://www.curtpalme.com/ElectrohomeECP_Layout2.shtm
