Hello everybody,

I have my eye on the "High Contrast Cinema Vision" from Da-Lite, normally recommended for moderate output LCD/DLP.

This screen has a gray base surface with a reflective top, it`s "able to provide very good black levels without sacrificing the white level output" and "With its enhanced black levels and brilliant white levels, this screen surface provides deep life-like colors and greater detail and sharpness to the image"( Da-Lite comment).
View Angle is 50°, Gain 1,1

How`s about using it together with a 1200Peaklumen 8"?

I think this "High Contrast" would better work for use in the (dark, but white walled) livingroom instead of the standard "Cinema Vision" or "StudioTek 130" with Gain 1,3 / View Angle 45°?

Thanks for any subscription

-Fabian

I used a gray screen, Stewart in an installation where the customer went with CRT instead of digital as he had originally thought. HE lost maybe 10% brightness, but that was about it. Everything else worked and looked fine.

Gray screen gains you nothing with a CRT in any environment and makes you bright colors more dull and cuts your picture brightness. In other words, all bad.

You can make a screen from Wilsonart Designer White laminate for less than $100 that will look significantly better with a CRT than that screen. Do that and you will be much happier.
