Hi, I'm after some advice to help me get a Electrohome 4100 CRT projector working.
I aquired the projector when my old office was being refurbished. I was also given some spare bulbs.
I have had no success projecting anything from a source through the projector so far.
I have connected my laptop using the VGA socket on the back of the laptop - to the BNC connections on source 1 / input 1 on the back of the projector.
I can get the menu and help screens to appear on my projected surface by pressing the "help" button on the projector. But when I try to switch to the source (ie. my laptop) nothing is projected onto my screen.
I wondered if anyone had had similar problems or advice on where to start investigating. I've never owned a projector before and would really like to get it working - before I bite the bullet and buy an LCD projector.

TUBES, spare TUBES. Not BULBS!
Try reversing the H and V connectors to the projector. Try combining the Ha nd V connectors via a BNC T connector. That's the first things that come to mind.

Hello
If you have selected the right input on the projector, then the issue may be the laptop or the connecting cable. The VGA output may be inactive if the laptop is not plugged into a wall power outlet. It may also be inactive if some keyboard commands are not entered. Your cable may lack certain of the VGA pins shorted to ground (aka "ID Bits") so it may not send video when it does not detect a monitor being connected. See the manual for your model of laptop.
