I have a Da-Lite Video Spectra, it was dusty (I always leave it down) then recently the ceiling leaked from the apartment above and kind of made the dirt clump up. It does not appear to have damaged the surface but I was wondering how to clean off all of the dust.

i called da-lite once with the same question and they recommended using "simple green"

I am surprised that they would recommend putting a cleaner like that on, I assumed it would take off some of the sparkley stuff.

Typically you don't clean screens, you just replace them. I'd call Da Lite and see what they recommend.

I would use pure water with maybe a little bit of dishwashing liquid. For the water, Aquafina will work great.

trust me they recommended "simple green" 
we had our big tensioned screen get "something" on it and it started to stick to itself so that when it unrolled instead of going down, it would roll back onto itself in reverse after the first couple of feet were let out. ick. they only way to get it down was to have someone pull gently on the screen bottom as we unrolled it. called da-lite, got told what i got told
