I'm ready to start my vacation and spend some quality time with the PJ (NEC 6PG xtra); but I have a single horizontal line across the picture. I restart the XBOX360; it's the same. I turn off the tubes one by one to find it is isolated to the red tube. Is this a problem with the tube or the board? I've tried searching the forums for related stuff but came up empty. I'll try to get a picture up soon to better illustrate.

A faintly brighter line than the rest of the image? Usually red?
Oh man, I completely forgot what caused that..... but it WAS because of too much geometric correction. Usually caused by improper
setup. I plum forgot WHICH parameter it was, but someone else will undoubtedly remember.
Keystone or linearity balance, something like that.
Nothing serious.
Marc

Do you see the image in the red tube, or just a line?

Post what all your alignment and convergence settings are at. If Marc is right, one of us NEC guys will be able to tell you what setting is being overused.

Vertical Linearity Balance from memory. You shouldn't really need any.

I ran into the same problem with my old PG and Mark diagnosed that as well. Backed off on those controls a bit and the line went away. On my XG which has a much better physical setup, I am using no vertical linearity balance at all.

Thanks, I'm going down tonight to fix this. What's odd is that it showed up after a couple of weeks of non-use, and no change in settings.
Curt - i see the whole picture, but with a slightly brighter line bisecting it horizontally, only on the red tube.

I went to my back up memory setting and sure enough the line went away. Now since I have to do another alignment, I'm going to try and set it up for 1920 x 1080, but I think I had problems last time I tried. I'll be sure to post any problems I may have
