Hi,
Can you help me with a problem i have on a BD708 (9002310). Only the red SF led in front is on and the Vertical scan fail light on the deflection board is on aswell. All green leds and the yellow led in front are on . Nothing happens further. No cracking sound just a high tone (not laud) when standby is pressed in.
I have verified the +17V voltage and the 14V (13.98V) on the SMPS and replaced the Quadrupler with a working unit from a 808s. I did not replace the Splitter yet (should I?)Is there a sequence i can follow to determine the failure or faulty component?
The F1 (1A) fuse on the Deflection board is blown. I tried to replace it with a regular glass 1A fuse but it blows as soon as the standby button is pressed. What could be the cause of this short?Should i use only a Pico-fuse to replace?
Thanks
Update
Replaced the fuse with a 1A pico-fuse but it blew instantly. While measuring present voltages i accidentally touched a safety-resistor near the fuse The red led on the board went out and the set came alive producing a horizontal bright line on the blue and green tube. Pressing ADJ made the bright line appear on all 3 tubes as they lit up. I replaced the 1A fuse again but it keeps on blowing. The voltage before the fuse is 9,98V (Is this to high? The manual states +9V)What could make this fuse blow? and what made the set come alive? Can the line burn in the tubes?
2nd update
I temporary put in a 2A fuse and the image is OK. Can anyone tell me how to adjust the voltage or explane the reason for the 1A fuse to blow?
3rd update
i connected a source (DVD) and chose input nr 1 the fuse blew immediately. Now even the 2A fuse blows. This time the unit comes alive each time i push the standby button but it displays only the bright line.
