My supplier has as of this morning ten pieces of the 12x5 and 6 of the 10 x 5. in stock.

I left a message for my Sales Rep after talking to the order guys.. They told me 2 bucks a sq ft at the order desk.. That is about retail from what I understand. My sales rep will typically beat that by 25 to 50%

I got a price from the nice girl at Rona today. $328 for 1 sheet of 5 x 12 and two sheets of precut 2.5 x 12.
After I hung up ( she woke me up ) I realized I'd only need one 5 x 12 and one sheet of 2.5 x 12. That would cover my wall except for 6 inches. Which works 'cause I intend to put my Centre channel speaker there.

Can you beat that price Ron? How much you figure shipping would be?

I went to the local Home Depot to order my sheet of 5'x10' last year and it was around $85.00 Then they wanted another $20 for delivery to the store. Wilsonart has a distribution center in Dallas so I just went by and picked it up. Can't recall the thickness, probably 1/16"

I think I paid just about what drice paid. I got my 5x10 sheet from a local wholesale supplier. Maybe it was $90 or so. I think that was a few bucks more than Lowe's/HD, but the wholesale supplier had it in stock while the big box stores had to order and were saying 10-14 days.

I picked it up from the wholesaler rolled up into about a 36" diameter roll, so I suppose the box would have to be about 36x36x60... or maybe 30x30x60. Considering how light it would be, I wouldn't think shipping would be too bad. It would be all 'dimensional weight' because of the size. I get a great deal on FedEx Ground, but I don't know how all the BS import/duty stuff works.

AR, why do you need more than the one big sheet for the screen?

I'm covering my whole wall (8x12) (-well 12 x 7.5' )with wilsonart. I haven't decided what my final screen size will be, probably 9.5 feet wide. I'm going to game at 4:3 and watch wide screen too. I haven't decided if I'll leave my projector where it is or move it back another couple of feet.

When I figure out the final size I'll hang drapes to mask it off.

Shoot... I have not heard back yet... I'll make that call (again ) today.. But I damn sure can beat 328 bucks for two sheets of the stuff.

I have no idea on what it would cost to ship from zip 66109. to ya...

Ron,
Do you have a spray rig? The original recommendation for the DW was for a large non-spray screen. It is a great no-nonsense screen, but I think spraying a screen will still give you better results.

I have a couple airless rigs. And I have a magical touch for laying paint on smooth.. I even painted the "Rudolph" work van with the thing.. and much to my surprise it doesn't look all that bad. .

What is the best stuff to paint with? My blackout cloth screen looks very nice.

I am having a real hard time getting people to return calls this week. How much interest would there be in buying Laminate at a good price, with the added bonus of knowing you are getting exactly what you want?

If you want to spray, then get a good piece of MDF and some Behr UPW. This will give you a better screen than the DW.

HEHE... I guess I should of said how many people would actually have me to broker the transaction?

I can't believe that they have not called me back yet. I buy way to much damn tile and cabinet hardware from them.. Normally if she is going to be out of the office her voicemail will state that.. Oh well...

I could buy it today at 1.75 per sq ft.... But I know that they can beat that..

I went by a hardware supplier to pick up some hinges today in Dallas and they have a huge stock of Wilsonart and will sell single sheets to individuals. Below is the info

Rugby Industrial Products
4541 Leston (near Regal Row and 183)
214-638-5761

Interestingly while I was waiting I started talking to a guy who has a cabinet building shop and I had told him that I used the Designer White for a projector screen and he said that he has done the same for the screen in his office's conference room.

That makes two of us... I just had "the Wraith" going while assembling a fresh mill for the GLHS... I hadn't been to the pick and pull for some time and had to go down there to grab a transfer case for the Jeep I just picked up... Slammed that in this afternoon and felt like working on the new hot engine for my little "viper in a box" .. And "the Wraith" has to be running while the engine is being assembled... It adds soul to the little mopar engines...
