I am having a problem with a 1209. I have been told to check out some things on the "RGB Driver Card". In looking at the pictures of the boards in the setup / tips section I cannot find any boards labeled with this exact verbage. There is a RGB Switcher board and a Quad decoder board as well as the RGB amplifier boards. Does anyone know which card is the "RGB Driver Card"?
Thanks
Dan

Sounds like the RGB amp cards on the CRTs. Could also be the RGB gain control. What problem are you having ?

It's same as Quad decoder board. That board have decoder for video/s-video in sub board and driver (RGB gain control) in main board.

Measure these resistors first from main board.

SR60 1 ohm
SR61 0.1 ohm
SR62 0.1 ohm

Then sub board (decoder).

SR400 2.2 ohm
SR401 1 ohm

Switcher

R143 2.2 ohm
R144 10 ohm
R145 10 ohm

If some of those series resistors are blown, it just indicates that there is other problem in that particular power line.

I am not able to get any output from the tubes. They light up a little but that is it. Below is more detail.

OK, I had a little time to check out a few more things. Bear with my ramblings.
First the board LED's
Focus/g2 - All green LED's are on the red LED is off
Vertical board - Red on when input with no video selected, Red off when input with video selected.
H Board - Red LED on main board dim red all of the time, Red LED on daughter board off
Quad decorder board from front to rear of projector - 2nd LED green on, all others off

When I first powered up the projector I had forgotten to turn on the DVD player that I have connected to it. When I turned on the DVD player the tubes flashed bright for a second and then went back to the barely lit state. I could not duplicate this again.

If I select input 2 which has no video input or the "Adjust" button the tubes will go from the barely lit state to dark and then slowly back to the barely lit state. When I select input 1 which has a video source the tubes will go dark and then a single vertical bright line will come on the tubes, this will go away and the tubes will go back to the barely lit state.

I am almost positive that this unit has brand new tubes in it. There is no burn it at all and all of the electronics on the tube are completely clean and it looks like there has been some new leads connected to them. (this could be some of the problem). Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks
Dan

I have checked out all of the resistors shown in the previous reply. They all check out except for the ones on the sub board. I am getting the opposite then what Ille said I should be getting. I have 1 ohm on SR402 and 2.2 ohms on SR401. Could this be a problem?

I have changed out the V board, H board and SMPS board to no avail. I am still not receiving any error lights. I pulled out the convergence tray and tried running the PJ with the same results. Is there anyway to trouble shoot the HV circuit or is it a replace and see type of thing. Does anyone have parts for the 1209 HV circuit that they would like to sell. I have come to a dead end. A thought I have had is to send the boards in for the Geismann mods and hope that the mods to the boards would fix the problem but I would prefer to know that I have a working projector before spending the money.
Thanks

No, those are fine.

Have you tested to swap switcher board from your 808?

Do you hear snaps and cracles (HV) when starting pj?

I had a somewhat similar problem with my 801s that turned out to a faulty EHT board.
