Hi,

I have a Marquee 9501L but I found the following problem when I go to Geom manual:

Setting
1) Horizontal size: ok
2) Side Pin: ok
3) Top Pin:no response
4) Bottom Pin: no response
5) Bow: no response
6) C Lin - Horizontal C Lin :no response; vertical C Lin: ok
7) S Lin - Horizontal S Lin: no response; vertical S Lin: ok
8) L/R Skew:no response

no response here means the screen shows the number going up or down when I press the remote but the geometry does not react.

I used ACON cam to setup the geom but the top, bottom, left and right side could not be aligned. Someone told me it may be the CLM problem. I took it out but it looks like ok. Any idea?

Thanks for your help in advance.

Cheung

It sounds more like the convergence output board is bad. I can repair those.

I have the same problem with Vertical Bow. The numbers on the screen change, but the test pattern remains the same.
Convergence seems to work OK. In truth, vertical bow is pretty close to ideal anyway, but it's nice to have everything working right.

Curt: What's your policy for sending in modules for repair?

Thanks, mhalsan

I saw this problem occur recently while trying to sort out another issue on my 9500 Ultra. I swapped out the Ultra convergence board for a non Ultra convergence board and I lost the same functions that you listed.

Chris.

Weird, but stay away from any use of bow. It will only distort your image. I stopped using any bow a couple years ago as it can introduce image distortion. Just make sure the projector is properly squared with your screen and you won't even need bow.

You're correct- I don't need it. The projector is carefully mounted, and squared to the screen, which itself is flat and true. I'd say the geometry is more than 95% with everything set to 50.

Since the project isn't all the way done (furniture won't be here until end of February, still some details with the audio system and controls) I'm taking care of every detail, repair, upgrade I possibly can. The idea is, once everythings done, I can spend more time watching it.

That's not true of course, when I first saw this projector I immediately knew I would be tinkering with it constantly. (Hence table mount, instead of ceiling)

This is turning out to be a great projector.

Thanks, Mark
