Howdy everyone !
Anyone has an idea of what these strange stains on the green and red tubes are ? (I know, I know, blue tube is totaly toasted ) Are these stains, fungus or wear (or what) ?
Cheers !

My vote goes for fungus. I still see wear on the tubes however it doesn't look too bad.

OK, now that you took a shot from a less oblique angle, that definitely looks like the infamous 'fungus' problem. Curt just happens to have a page all about it and the removal of said fungus.

This look anything like your tubes?

Turn it on. Put up an image.
If it is blurry at those spots=fungus
If it is focused but darker=burnt

That blue would drive me nuts. I know you didn't want comments about it and I apologize but I'd be thinking more about that blue tube than I would growing single celled organisms in the other two. Looks like keystoning was a little funky for a long time too.
Maybe Santa will bring you a new one for Christmas?

Indeed !
Thanx everyone for the tips ! Once I'll get back my projector from UPS, I'll try to CLRise that fongus !
I just hope UPS won't keep it to long as the casing was damaged during shipping and they asked back the projector to study the packaging vs the damage...

I have that big boy (around 90 pounds or so) at home (sitting on top of a Quad Pioneer QX-949, though I don't own any Quad records). 185 true watts per channel... and it looks as good as it sounds !!

At this very moment there's only a 1030 up.. kindof expensive at $150.. Just search out "VPH" in Ebay.. they come up all the time, usually 5-10 of them per month. A 1041 just sold about 5 days ago for $66.... and I have seen them go cheaper than that(before shipping).

all the guns are firing.. RED, BLUE and GREEN.. but the convergence is off.
I tried to get them to move but I did not hear the convergence motor moving. At least I think I should hear it.. My CRT you can hear.
To this I add WTF? I think he need to spend endless hours reading a CRT like forum or something.
