I have a 6 year old WS5509 which I love. I have ordered the HDFury Blue. I purchased a magnavox DVD player which will convert to 1080p to view dvds. It is model BDP17OMW8. I have over 200 dvds. I intend to hook the dvd player like this. I plan to use a 6 foot hdmi cable to the HDFURY......then a 6 inch vga to rgb adapter from the HDFURY to my 1080i side of my wide screen tv. This is the side i am viewing my HD Satellite on now. Please tell me if this setup will work on my Mitsubishi ws55809. I have been reading different views on these televisions. Thanks.

Unless your one year younger Mitsubishi had more than one HD-capable (DTV) input then you will need a method to video-switch the source. On my 65907, which was made the year before your unit, it only had one HD-capable input that was configured through the setup menu for accepting YPbPr Component or RGBhv. The other Component inputs were only 480P-capable on my unit.

It'll work, but you may have to make centering and size adjustments that will make your DTV input unsuitable for component sources until they are undone. So you'll need to have all your HD sources coming in through the Fury. That means you'll need a switcher of some type as WanMan suggested.
