DOUG, your the man that switch was on test and now I can control the brightness! But I still have video noise. I don't know is this is normal but i can hear a high pitch oscillating sound that coincides with the image movement or a change in the image.

You have a few issues going on. Check the switches on the HV board to see if your on normal and not hi bright mode. Silk screen on the board itself will show this.

Try a different signal path not using the Fury or try the 5V ps that Marc suggests

Run a lower res to see what happens.

I would run a HV flashing checkerboard test but not really user stuff to do.

If you were in test can you go over the 2.5V settings from reference. This will take a bit of time but bright bias needs to be checked (2.5V) in normal position. Guide to do this is posted somewhere or pm your e-mail address.

On stuff like this you first want to run the projector checking for any oddities before kicking it in the butt with 1080P and a unknown signal chain or termination problems. The streaking you see points me to the D Conv board in normal running conditions.

Start low and work your way up. Also can be oscillation in the LVPS.

Check phases and also see if H position changes the noise your hearing. Doug

One other thing. Why not set up for 1080I or 720P and enjoy it for a few days getting use to the projector and its personality. It will help you know 'normal' and what it sounds like.

Well thanks for all the advice, as it turns out I did a setup for 1080i and presto no more video noise. and with that little switch on normal I have a good image.I wish this thing would have done 1080p without the problems, so looks like I will get some adapters and put the lenses on the marquee. Thanks for all the input I greatly appreciate it. oh one more thing is there a adjustment on a card to set the image width wider so I can use more tube face? The way it is now there is 3/8 to a 1/2 inch that i cant fill with the amplitude adjustment.

This is interesting I have exactly the same thing happening on my XG75 when running 1080p through the HD Fury & crescendo2200
however 1080i is fine.
If I run 1080p directly from the hdmi of the bluray player to the dvi input of an older moome card there is no
streaking.
Will try a better RGB cable within the next few days to see if this is the problem.

This is one of the reasons trying to trouble-shoot a projector without seeing and hearing is actually a crap-shoot. There are to many source variables to have a 'control' set in stone.

I have ran 1200P (DVD) to the XGs years ago with no issues other then the source needing porch setting reworked. Anymore I use my signal generator to confirm then start looking back from there. This was also ran through the ISS switcher first.

derfla,
There is no magic switch to throw to make a image wider. The XG has voltage specs on the deflection board that has to be maintained. You can change source porch settings to make the active image wider if you have a way to do that or move the projector back. Might check to make sure the blanking is backed out. Doug

Raise brightness up and take a look at the raster size. The area from raster to the active image is porch area that could be used
