My Zenith Pro 850 is fed 20 feet away by a sony 1271 switcher. I want to add a HD Fury for HDDVD. My cables are of the highest quality. Can I connect the Fury to the switcher via an IFB-11, or must I run HDMI cable to Projector. My Zenith only has one vga input.
Thanks,
Steve

You can definitely connect the output from the HD Fury into an input on the switcher. I'm using an Extron matrix switcher instead of the Sony switcher, but I'm still doing basically the same thing you're proposing. I have multiple analog sources on several inputs on the switcher. One of those inputs is the HD Fury output - which is connected to the output of my HD-XA1 HD-DVD player.
I'll probably end up with another HDMI source or two in the next few months and I'll have to consider an HDMI switcher. It never ends.

SC,
With your setup did you go with the power supply? Or am I fine without it? The switcher & source is in the same rack.

Nope, no power supply. From my understanding, you really only need a power supply if you're using a longer HDMI cable, or if your source doesn't power the HD Fury adequately. I'm fine on both counts, it seems. I have a short HDMI cable, and apparently the HD Fury is receiving adequate power from my Toshiba XA1.
I think the prevailing thought now is that just getting the power supply is the best way to go - regardless of source device or HDMI cable lengths. I would have done that I suppose, but the power supply wasn't available yet when I bought the HD Fury. I'll probably order the power supply eventually - I just haven't gotten around to it and it works fine.
