|
|
Reading about RGB passthrough in another thread just made me remember something I once read....
Doesn't one of the input cards for the Sony 12xx series have a setting to output the RGB signal to another machine? All I have are IFB-11's and one IFB-12. If this is possible in some way, it would make hooking up my stack MUCH easier... IF it is even possible to get the projector to send the signal back through the other input slot.

i'm not a Sony guy but i've been on the forum on a long time and never actually read of an RGB pass-through from sony. AFAIK, electrohome was the only compnay that actually designed in a stacking ability into their CRT's and it's actually discussed in the factory service manul. Sooo, it sounds like you need to move up from those 12XX series and get a pair of Marquee's Either that or an external signal spliter of some sort?

Isn't it possible to just use some bnc tee connectors and feed both pj's from one line?

I read that the IFB-12A has a switch on it for that purpose. You can have multiple IFB's sending the RGB out to other monitors. I'm looking for it now.

In order to split the image without inducing ghosting, ringing, and a slew of other potential problems you need a cicruit with built in buffers that can do this cleanly. The Marquee RGB pass-through card is by no means a complex circuit but it's more than just an electrical Tee.

I think this is what your looking for. Apparently it is SW2. If the pic is not clear enough I will try to put a clearer one on. Good Luck!!!

I do have the block diagram schematics for the 12 and 12A boards if you need them but they are to large to post here. I would have to email.
