Check the jumpers in the DVDO, chances are that they are not set for RGBHV.

To be set in RGBHV the jumpers have both to be set to "normal" right? So something is wrong with DVDO or with my 1271! Smile

I can lock the picture only in RGsB or RGBs. This way is there something special on M8000 to have RGsB or RGBs working properly?

Ciao

Update.

I followed the magnetics 101.

The result is better but

1. On RED tube I cannot focus the side part of the tube. I mean that I can focus center, top/bottom but right/left are doing absolutely nothing. I swapped the focus plugs on Focus board but I was not able to understand if it fixed because I cannot adjust side focus while all colors are on (at least I think I can't). However was clear that RED focus was working properly (driven by GREEN focus board) so it's not the tube. I visually inspected the card. I did not find any burned resistors or anything strange.
2. I still cannot focus perfectly the left/right part of all colors. I'm sure that it's not a lens' issue because
a) I watched with soldering glasses throught the lenses, the focus is blurry ON THE TUBE itself.
b) I can perfectly focus the sides of the CRTs working on electronic CENTER focus (without moving the lenses). But I cannot have both center AND sides focus the same.

Focus become very blurry from sides to center over 50 of contrast...

Hints? Focus Board faulty?

Take ohm readings across R116 and R118, those should read near 1ohm. Also you have three similar "channels" on focusboard. So its quite easy crosschek values from workin channel to not working.

Yes, I saw there are three section on that card. I can check but I cannot have decent focus on all colors (I do not remember the blu one).
I can't believe that focus board is fault for all colors...

I have an Idea.
Since, if I remember correctly, at low contrast setting the image are sharp, and since the HV transformer is hissing at high contrast, could a bad HV transformer be the cause of the bad focus at high contrast? I still did not test one tube at a time.

The guy I'm helping reported a "H-Fail" on the CRT one time...

I know Draganm, but I'm doing it the same!
