Hey Curt , one of my former co-workers was taking some finished products across the border from Ontario to Buffalo NY years ago and when they found out that he had commercial goods in the car that he had not declared and did not have "paperwork" for they refused him entry, turned him around for Min 48 hours, and offered to impound his car if he ever did it again Shocked

They are making recycling mandatory here in good old San Diego. I guess they will have to have a whole devision of trash police digging through our trash cans, to make sure we are not trying to sneak any paper or plastic in to the dump.

They tried to make us drink our toilet water, we call it "Toilet To Tap", but the Mayor vetoed that one.

They banned drinking at the beach even thought there was a vote by the people to keep it legal.

I betch'ya I could break a dozen different laws while I'm sleeping tonight:)

The biggest problem is nobody is going to stand up to all this fascism until it is too late, at the moment it is a case of 'ohh, it's too hard and why bother it is only just a little invasion of privacy/only a little right taken away/only a little harder to do business", by the time people decide that enough really is enough (or more realistically, they have gone too far as it is) it will be so much more difficult to do anything that the only way will be revolution or civil war.

It is going that way here in Australia too, this weekend will be a big decider of Australia's future, anyone who votes for the Liberals will be condoning (read: condemning Australia to) fascism.

Look at what the Liberals have done:
Sold assets like Telstra: now we pay more for less service and phone line quality.
Increased taxes: Brought in the GST (taxes that were meant to be removed are still in place many years after they were supposed to be removed, we get taxed on tax).
Taken away Rights: Banned firearms, brought in anti-terror laws that mean you can be locked up for 14 days without access to a lawyer or contact with your family (not even letting them know where you are or that you are ok and not missing/murdered) and secret evidence can be used under the guise of 'national security' and you have no legal recourse, taken away workers rights that have been fought for for 150 years with their Industrial Relations laws (Industrial Rape more like it) that they have re-named Work Choices (what choices?!!!!!), changed the election rules so that there can be no new political parties registered for the federal ballot meaning we are stuck with the political parties that exist now (the very foundation of democracy is gone).

There is more that they have done over the last 11 years but I can't think of them right now.

Any Australian's who care about freedom and fairness will vote Labor or vote for a party that gives it's preference to Labor (yes that is right, your vote doesn't necessarily go to the party of your choice, if they don't get a certain percentage it goes to your next preference and so on).

Try putting "Blackwater" or "Haliburton" on the package.

These two names have Carte Blanche with the US government...therefore you'll not have to worry about paying anything. and if somehow someone thinks you've done something wrong. You'll also be entitled to pardons and cover ups.

Well you can't fault them for that. THe thing is, I follow the damn rules, to a f*cking T for that matter. I get searched maybe once every 3 years, I've got no problems with that either, but throwing stupid surcharges on tiny shipments is INSANE. I don't see what it solves. It simply kills the sales of small items unless I send via Canada Post. Considering it took 2 weeks to get two letters from one side of town to the other month, yeah, I have faith in timely out of country shipments. Thumbs Down

Maybe you can claim that everything you send out of Canada into the USA is Canadian manufactured. Would that exempt any of this, Curt?

Don't forget the new "known shipper" laws the TSA have had introduced..

If you're someone that buys a lot off eBay and the sellers are in the US, the sellers are usually "individuals" - cargo puchased from such individuals needs to travel via cargo freight plane rather than passenger jets and therefore the price almost doubles.

Curt, sorry to hear of your USPS woes. I had one guy sent me a package via USPS and it got here fine. Another guy tried to send exactly the same package in exactly the same packaging/boxes and USPS turned the second guy down saying it was too big to be accepted via Australia Post. One could say that neither package should have got through.. but it would be good to be consistent.
USPS are usually 1/2 the price of couriers for smaller items.

Someone mentioned "Aussies having the balls" to say no to Muslims that don't integrate - the goals of all good Muslims is to implement global Sharia law... we're talking about losing our civil liberties because of ID chips being injected under skins but knowing that there is a relgion that wants to make the whole world follow an... often twisted ideology is even scarier in my eyes. Some have said "you're a racist" but racisim is about a particular race, whereas a religion is about ideologies - it has nothing to do with race.

I'd just overpack them into one box and keep the total under $200. Then it's just one shipment with one set of paperwork. So you need to get some big boxes to shuttle across the border.

Yep, it's a hastle but you need to make a living while fighting the system.

Mike
