OK, I checked all those settings still no dice. I rechecked my cable with the meter for the third time it is like it should be. I dug out my other computer (spare) installed the software and it does the exact same thing. I guess my projector is broke. I either need to try a remote with it or figure out what part i need to get. Anyone know what part I should start with?

I dont think its a problem with your projector. Its probably the software is not compatible with your projector because of the serial number like the bulletin says. I dont know if there is an earlier version of software for the XG.

Can anyone chime in on this one? Is there software compatible with the projectors on the bulletin? Anyone have a remote they would like to rent me for a week? so I can set this thing up and see if it's worth buying a remote for or if it has something wrong with it that would make me part it out.

I have one I can lend you if nobody steps up -but the time and shipping might make it more trouble than it is worth.

I haven't used the software on this site, but any NEC remote with two on/off buttons will work.. (one for on, one for off).
The single button on/off switches are for the older GP sets, and only some commands will work.

I've been thinking about your communication problem and just thought I'd post this pic so you could verify your pin placement. I know I was confused when I first did mine and it did not work properly. I had to redo it.I pulled my wire and verified this is the proper location and mine works fully, however mine is not on the incompatible list. Hope it helps.

Sorry, with this hidden bidder thing on eBay, I had no idea who I was bidding against. Had I seen it was you, I wouldn't have bid.

thats cool I guess, you were willing to pay more than I can get one from a forum member, so I am going with that one. I am sorry for driving the price up on you.

Actually, bidders ID's are only hidden for higher cost items. It doesn't kick in until you are over at least $100. Also, you still have plenty of time to cancel your bid, the auction doesn't end for a day and a half !

Of course it is.
ANYONE can cancel their bid. There should be a link right on the ebay page. Keep looking...
