|
|
I must be doing something dumb here.
I just tried to check the P14 voltage on my 9500 but I'm not getting any reading at all! I've disconnected the P14 plug and attached one clip to one pin and the other clip to the other pin then powered up the pj and ..... nothing, the multimeter doesn't budge off of zero!
I checked the multimeter and clips by using a torch battery I had lying around and it read that ok but I'm just not reading anything off of P14! Multimeter is set to DC Voltage (just like Tim's photo here http://www.etechvideo.com/a4p1.htm ) but nothings happening.
Any idea guys? It has to be me thats doing it wrong but I can't see how. PJ works fine otherwise.
Thanks guys,
Paul

Hello
Reconnect the wire, the voltage comes from the wire.

Tim, you're a star!!
4.4 in standby, 6.9 on full power! Looks like the LVPS fix will be getting done on Monday!
A thought, as the tubes look good, does the filament fix mean that they will still last their full 8-10,000 hours or will their life have been shortened due to the high voltage?

Hello
It depends.......6.9vdc is high, but what are the tube hours? Add viewing hours to standby hours, the filament stays full on in standby.

is that measurement on the disconnected plug? or while its connected?
If its on the disconnected, then that is probably fine because that is an unloaded measurement in that case.
Measure it when its connected. to adjust it properly.

Tube hours;
CRTs On 5988
Standby 7150
Measured when connected (unfortunately). Now reduced to 6.35 by using the existing pot.
Red only just installed so it won't have any issues, blue and green MAY be original but just a guess as they look perfect otherwise.
