This is one of my favorite animated films and now that it's making it's rounds in theaters again with the added feature of 3D, I had to see it. The film looked great but the 3D effect wasn't that big a deal. In fact, the effect was so minimal that I had to remind myself once in a while that it was 3D; mostly I forgot. I would have liked to compare this version with the non-3D version; perhaps I would have noticed the difference more.
Anyway, before the movie started, I looked into the booth to see what I could see, something I always do if I can, and was surprised to see a digital projector, a NEC something or other - I couldn't see any model numbers. Pretty big for a digital projector. This was the first theatrical digital projection I've ever seen and I must say I was impressed. The previews for coming films looked fabulous, very colorful, sharp, detailed and absolutely no artifacts that I could see from my seating position about 2/3 of the way back. Blacks were just fine, as good as any film I've ever seen. Close to perfection. The feature film was the same. I don't know if this is typical digital setup but if it is, what is anyone complaining about? I have no doubt other digital presentations have been less than perfect, but if they lived up to the standard I saw, film in theaters is dead.

This is my wife's favorite movie. Its nice that they re-released it in 3D, but I would much have rather bought the HD DVD or Blu-ray for her.

I went to see that on Nov 1st. The piexlation was rediculous. Even from the back of the theater. Which is strange because we went to see "Meet The Robinsons in 3D" when it was out and even right up to the screen I couldn't see the pixles. Maybe it's the difference between Disney 3D and Imax 3D

No, that's not it at all. It was much taller and larger, unless it was in a special case.
I saw no pixelization at all and I was looking for it pretty hard. I saw no problems of any kind.
The 3D in this film is no great shakes. Yeah, you can see that it's there but it doesn't do anything for the film. I could easily have done without it. Too bad it wasn't intended for 3D from its inception.
