I have TheaterTek installed on this PC. A month ago I bought a new widescreen monitor. When I was using the old monitor and played a widescreen movie, I would get the normal black bars top and bottom and the geometry would be correct. Now when I play a movie, I get the same bars top and bottom but the geometry is not correct. (circles are pancakes). How do I force DVD playback to use full screen. I'm sure it's a function in TheaterTek but I can't seem to find it. In TheaterTek I am set to full screen, what's up? Thanks,

Sounds like your video card in sending an aspect ratio different from that of your new display. For instance, if the video card thinks you have a 4:3 display, but it is in fact a 16:9 display then it will stretch it horizontally and make circles look like pancakes. Then again, it could be the video card is in aspect sync with the display, but TT isn't.

You mean 16:10 right?

Are you running the correct resolution for the monitor?

It should be the pixel aspect ratio that should determine how the picture should be drawn. That is why 3d graphics is always drawn right as it is 1:1 pixel ratio. As is all monitors.

Could TT think that you have a non square pixel monitor?

Hey Chip. Did you try the aspect ratio controller in Theatertek? Also is there an setting in the monitor for normal, stretch, zoom or whatever it offers?
