|
|
Guys,
I have done a full reset on my projector.
I am having a real problem with C lin being off center.
From center to right vertical line is 37.5"
From center to left vertical line is 41"
Notice also that the retrace on the left side of the screen has a certain waviness to it. (short retrace only- which I need for blu ray)
To correct for this c Lin has to be @ 16 or slightly less, and this from what I understand is tied in with green convergence circuit.
On top of all this when I adjust the focus coil, stig and flare it appears that true center of the beam is off center of the tube face just less than 1/8"
( That is if I want my dots to stay perfectly still on screen with contrast 100 and ramping focus 0-100).
Projector is less than 1/8" off center from center of green tube. (front and back)
Any insight would be appreciated...
And
And
Now I need a drink
Jim

Hello
The linearity issue is on every Marquee so just use 16 as the value.

Use the X test pattern when adjusting linearity. The lines of the X will only be perfectly straight if linearity is perfect.

What you see is pretty normal. Use the horizontal phase to move the picture to the right to avoid the "jailbars" on the left side. Center the images after this. Rasters will be off center but it's the pictures that are important.

THANKS GUYS!!!
In all my reading and searching I don't think I ever read about either of these issues (or non issues), and I have binders with you guys posts in them.
When I did my original setup, I did as you guys have suggested (pic was great), but was trying to do away with phase @52.

Guys!
H Linearity adjustment first appeared in the 8110/8500/9500 with main firmware v3.3; one cannot chip up an 8000/9000, you would need to upgrade the control board from a newer machine.

Change Retrace to Long and Sync to Fast. Looks like you haven't done much since a full reinitialization going by those numbers.
Out of curiosty, what's with the couple dots on all your shots? Is that from your camera?

Greg,
Long retrace on blu ray cuts off about 1/4 of image as porch settings seem to be pooched. I am setting up the projector specifically for blu ray and HD at 1080p. If watching Sat it will be at 720P and not as critical for set up so I can use dynamic adjustments for the little that will be required.
Marks on the screen are blue easy release masking tape for centers and references for my c lin settings.
I will change sync to fast, but it was not part of my concern at that point.
