High Voltage splitter. and the red HV leads.
It doesn't matter which goes where.
plug 'em in and give 'em a 1/4 turn.
you will need to remove that white plastic plate below the splitter to get at the magnetic adjusters you need to adjust during mechanical setup.

plug 'em in and give 'em a 1/4 turn. | wrong, the HV wire with the sleeve over it is from the power supply (you can trace it down into the chassis to make sure). It goes in the lower left corner (when looking from the front). It's marked "supply" on the side of the splitter in White letters.

You should first learn the basic set-up and operation. The fact that all the High voltage leads were disconnected is a little worrisome, hopefully the set powers up OK?

Well, there is no such marking on my splitter, but that's where I had plugged the supply lead in anyway.

Set powers up fine. I have complete confidence in the set and the seller. No worries there.
Setup, on the other hand, is another story. Round one definitely went to the projector.
After going through all the tightening and checking out suggested above (with the exception of the voltage check... I only have the pin probes for my meter, and the suggestion to use pinch probes seemed like a good one. I'll pick some up and do that today), I powered it up and went through the guided setup. Everything was fine until I got to the mechanical convergence, where you loosen the bolts and move the tubes back and forth. I couldn't even get close that way, no part of the grid seemed to line up with any other part of the grid. The best I could do was to get the lines to intersect at a couple of points, but everything else was way off. Clearly I need to look into further adjustments, so I am going to try to do that and take another crack at it today.
There is a lot of keystone and other stuff dialed in, from the projector having been previously mounted very high, and that is no doubt adding to my troubles.
I am am doing all of this with the projector just sitting on the road case, and I am hoping I can achieve a bit more of a clue by the end of today, because tomorrow it goes up on the ceiling and it will be time to do the setup for real. (Although I have no illusions that I won't be re-doing it for months to come, until I really get it down.)

Hi lyd,
In order to erase the previous setup that was done (because no part of any setup is generally useful to another setup) you need to do a full reset on the machine. Press UTIL, 9, 0901, and I think 4 is Projector Initialization. From there pick whichever option is to reset everything. The PJ will turn off and when you bring it back up it will look like it has a lot of pincushion and keystone, but worry not, at least this time you're starting from scratch. Very important!

No, in fact, I'm not.
I checked with the experts.
some may have labels for guys that feel they need them and give you a sense of security. but thats all it is for.
the internal structure is such that it doesn't matter.
