It's okay to delete your cookies but probably not required.
You will then have to resign in to all your bulletin boards etc.

Don't forget to delete all the files in the %system%\Prefetch folder too. Also do a search for *.tmp and *.temp files and trash them too. Running programs won't let allow you to delete an in use temp file so just deselect it by holding down the Shift key and left clicking on it. Do that every time the delete process stops on a file that's in use.

I am curious, why are you so interested in deleting all the temp files?
In the normal course of operations they shouldn't be a problem.
Unless you are running out of space on your hard drive maybe?

Well, my main PC's gremlins have retuned. Last night I was on fleabay looking at more Crestron equipment. My eyes were bothering me so I took a 1/2 hour rest. when I returned, I found it had shut down on it's own. Now it's totally unresponsive. There is some power as a green led on the mother board is lit as normal, just no respose from the power button. When my problems started before, a trouble shooting flow chart for my mother board kept mentioning the power supply. Is there a way to test the supply to confirm it is the problem? In just about every scenario on that flow chart, the power supply was mentioned as a possibility. Thanks,

Hi Chip, if it has just shut down and is not responding put it of with the power button at the back of the power supply, leave it off for a few seconds so there are no lights on the pc motherboard. Now put the power supp button back on and press your power for the pc. What does it do then?

Also, check your power management settings - for the sake of this exercise, turn all PM off.

I tried another PS and it went instantly into protection. After some trial and error I narrowed it down to my powered graphics card. If I un plug it it fires up. I tried another powered card from this PC and it's fine. Time for a new card. This one is a Geforce 6600GT 128MB AGP 8x/4x. I need a quick suggestion for a replacement so I can pick one up today.

I know a little late
7300GS, 7600 or 7900/7950 $erie$ will get you back up and running. Make sure to get the AGP card. Will your mother board run 8x AGP or was it an older model that will only do 4x?
