I am going to be attempting some troubleshooting by replacing different boards. Mainly the SMPS power supply, V board and H shift board. What would be the correct procedure to follow to mimimize damaging the new boards? Should I install the new boards one at a time or put in all of the new boards at once? If one at a time should I follow a certain order?
Thanks
Dan

I am not getting the tubes to light up. The symptoms are as follows. I had this in another post and Curt suggested the SMPS, H card or V card is having problems.
1. On the G2/Diagnostics board the following lights are off : +Conv and HTHD
2. The Scan Fail is red
3. The CONV Overvoltage is green.
4. Everything else is green.
On the small board attached to the H Card when I first power on the unit the LED toward the front of the PJ comes on red and then about 3 to 5 seconds later there is a bit of a high pitch sound and the light goes off. When this light goes off the +Conv, HTHD and Scan Fail on the G2 board all pulse on and then back off. The LED on the main H card is a dim red. The LED on the V card is a bright solid red.
Thanks
Dan

I would suggest the SMPS card first since it generates most all the various voltages. Certainly do them one at a time. Wait a bit and see if anyone corrects me though. I would hate for you to smoke a good board
Glad they arrived in good condition (I assume...).

It's pretty hard to smoke a board... unless a connector is plugged in in correctly, or HV arcing occurs. Try the SMPS first, then the V board.
