i'm setting up to watch PL this weekend, but can't find either a BR or a HD-DVD version.

am i blind or did this not get released in either of those?

I watched in on regular DVD a couple of weeks ago.....I hate watching movies with subtitles.

Kal - thanks. now the question becomes rent or buy like i was planning to. sigh. by December i should also have Kim's gamma correction box, which should really work on a darkish film like this.

Chris - you're missing a lot of good movies. but that's your call (and a different/old thread if i recall Smile )

I recorded it off satellite, and watched the first 10-15 minutes a couple of weeks ago - t looked pretty good. Lots of dark stuff, as you said. I didn't mind the subtitles so much and it looks like a really interesting film. HD off the satellite certainly isn't HD-DVD, but it still looks purdy.

There was one scene where the little girl comes out of a tree trunk and it's nearly dark - twilight-type lighting. The way they shot it, it really did look dark outside... it was pretty spooky and looked awesome on the CRT. Nice shadows even with the little light they captured. Neat look to the film - very natural looking.
