As the title says, I'd like to know what a reasonable price is for a Vision 1 case?

I was offered one at $350 US.
They sell for $1299 from HiRes - except Gary @ HiRes said his buy price was around $1000 US.
There was a company in the UK selling some for 350 Sterling (around 500US)
The thing that got me was the shipping - the guy who had the $350 one was on the East coast of the USA and the cheapest we could get shipping to Australia was $500 US. We assumed it was the cubing rule, even though the case isn't particularly heavy, the dimensions aren't shipping friendly. It cost him $150 US to ship from one place in the US to the other.
So I could have paid just shy of 2k US for a case, shipped to Australia.
Or I could buy a toasted Vision 1 for 3-4k, part it out and keep the case!!
Chris if you are after one, let me know and I'll send you the details of the guy that has one for $350 (if you want it). I think Derfla made it.
Kind regards

I'm not actually looking for one. I bought a projector that was suppose to come with a Vision 1 case. The case was shipped seperatly, and it turns out that the case is actually from a Vision 2 and won't fit on the 9500. I will be selling the Vision 2 case and the seller has agreed to refund the difference (if there is one) between my selling price and the price for a Vision 1 case.
I don't need the fancy case, my projector projects through a cutout in the back wall of my theatre and is not visible.
Chris.

Ah no problem mate, in that case I fogot the two 9s .. 99350 was the cheapest I found.
I think I read somewhere recently that you can cut the holes out of the Vision 2 case to make it fit a Vision 1
Kind regards

I looking into modding the case to fit but it would be a pretty serious hack job that would look like crap. I think anyone who is inclined to get one of these cases is in it for the looks.

There must be some other reason (other than lens diameter) that the case is different. Believe it or not the HD-8 outer measurement is larger than the HD-10. A HD-10 lens cap is to small for a HD-8 REV B. They are both about 6 1/4 inches in diameter.

the entire case is the same except for the front section. if anyone wanted just a lc front section I would probably make them one. but keep in mind that there would still be some work to get it to fit. there was more than one mold used to make all the cases out there and parts from one mold set do not fit perfect with another. if you research how a fiberglass mold is made you will see why.

The tubes on the 9500 sit farther apart. The holes in front section of the Vision 2 case are not far enough apart to accomodate the lenses.

I'm sure they are designed to have the red and blue lens able to swing fully out but if you were to set up the projector with the required toe-in for a normal HT type screen, the front still won't fit? They would be toe'd in quite a bit.

That's correct, the 8" front still won't fit the 9" PJ,

I've seen a variant of that case that would work with either 8" or 9" tubes. The central section of the front piece was totally cut out,
leaving just a border, and the internal space used a cut-to-fit piece of Marquee lens foam. Simple and efficient. You could do this
mod yourself if you're able to handle basic fiberglas work.
