Hallo friends and experts of the CRT club,

since 2005 I own a used 1271 with low hours, good tubes, a DVI input board and now with a big problem.
After setting the Sony up I had a good time watching movies for a while.
A while later my CRT started to show shaking lines inbetween a movie. Not the whole screen yet.
Then the shaking got worse and stayed longer.
When I was really lucky I sometimes had days when it didn't occur, but the next time it would start again.
Going along with Curt's advice I removed all the boards and remounted them and checked on every connector I could see.
Unfortunately with no effect. The picture is shaking all over and it is the same with the test patterns. So I can clearly exclude any failures concerning the sources ( DVD Player, DVD's, cable ).
So does anyone in this forum know what else I can do to get my baby working properly again.
Is there any special board inside that might need to be replaced?
Any help is appreciated.

Greetings Joe Crying or Very sad

I have had a similar problem. I replaced the DC and E board in my 1270, and it seemed to fix the problem.

Hallo Brooklyn,

glad that I got at least one good hint to what might by the cause of this shaking effect. How did you experience this effect on your 1270 and who gave you the idea to change especially these two boards?

I'll try to get hold of these two boards. I'll start a request on the forum right away.

Thank you again for answering

Greetings Joe

Had something similar, was the DA board (sync).

Do you have it with any signal, test patterns, input...

Ciao

Hallo tony359

well actually yes. It doesn't matter if I have my DVD player connected via DVI input or if everything is unplugged from the CRT and I run the test patterns. The shaking of the picture is permanent now and it appears with the lines shaking fast from left to right an vis versa. Unfortunately after my action reseating the boards it seems that it has worsened the situation.

Bye Joe

If the situation has worsened, perhaps you have something loose in one card, Curt can repair or replace for you...

When it comes to spare parts I guess I will end up with Curt anyway as he certainly has the biggest collection of parts anywhere.

I had the same issue with a 1251, I replaced the DA (Sync) Board and the picture looks great now.
