OK - they arrived but the Vision 1 doesn't look like a one

tim might know better, but I think a 1997 vintage is a non Ultra. Do you have V skew controls? The non Ultras only had H tilt.

An Ultra would be mid-1998 or newer and have a chassis bersion of 38-P152xx-xx. You did get GT17s which were not the common lens for plain 9500s.

TV/Projector: Sony G90 X2 - Vidikron Vision 1

Thank you Tim.

When the seller told me about the Vidikron, he told me it was an ultra. I got all excited. When we opened it today, I was still excited but I was confused about the case. I hadn't heard of a Vision 1 with a normal case.

But I am SO not complaining!!

Now I'm on the hunt for parts everyone - ultra parts. Time tells me they are hard to get but I'm a determined soul and being stuck in bed 22/7 means I don't have a life other than searching through cheap "for sale" ads. I have an enitre set of bookmarks that I cycle through every few hours. Pretty sad really!

and a (unknown 9" projector with Vidikron markings and Marquee parts!) for 5k.
Lets get one thing straight, there's no such thing as a Vidikron with Marquee parts. the V1 Is 100% Marquee 9500LC. Vidikron simply added the fancy case (at some point), and color filtered Red C- element.

How do I know if my late model Vision One has the filtered red C element?

When the projector is off, look into the lens, if it looks red, you're good, if clear like the blue tube, then it is not colour-corrected.

Anyone know if thees are after market mods/field mods or OEM and that's just the way they are?

Sorry I forgot to mark them - the three resistors and the two brown caps with the twist in the second photo

That's how all the VIM boards were built at that time. That's normal for the type.

The lenses are correct. Marquees/Visions came with HD10GT17s. G90s came with HD10Fs.

The Marquee case is the stock variant but all in off-white. Not the classic Vision case, styled by Pininfarina. Why that is, I could
only speculate. It could be an early example before the custom cases were ready. It could be one that was shipped when
the custom cases were out of stock. (They are time consuming to make and finish.) It could be a lower cost option that the
buyer chose to go with.

The Marquee power supply is auto voltage. Feed it ANYTHING between about 90 and 260 volts, and anything from 40 to 400 Hz power,
and it'll run. No worries, just get a cord that fits. No jumpers to mess with, nothing. Plug it in. It'll work.
