Ok, so I am in Best Buy yesterday and come across Fantastic Four on Blu-ray for a whopping $35. No deal. I get up this morning and go out to Amazon and search for "Fantastic Four' and the Blu-ray version does not come up in their search results. Strange, must be too expensive to sell--or too expensive to sell to me. Smile

I break out Google, perform the search and the first link if Amazon offering it. WTF? In the workplace I am use to bad company search engines (try Cisco!) and get better results going through Google. Now, I am not trying to advocate Google, but its crazy when someone like Amazon can't find the article I am looking for even though they have it and sell it.

Then I got to thinking cookies can play into this. I remember experiencing a condition in which if I had previously searched on a reseller's website for something it gave me one price (1st time visitor newbie enticement), but upon a re-visit it gave me a more expensive price--I even verified this by using a second computer on the same home network and was amazed at the difference in results.

I now wonder if Amazon is doing this with cookies. "Don't sell him that cheap Blu-ray movie. Instead, hide and and push him towards something else." Even at the cost of my doing business with them. Really strange.

The silver surfer has obviously gamed Amazon's search engine to prevent people from finding the flick. Why do you think they call him the silver surfer anyway? Wink

So, clear your cookies or use a different browser and revisit. I'm curious, too.
I'd suspect a metadata error or a mistake before anything else.
