|
|
I currently have a BG808 that hopefully Curt will be able to fix. I came across a listing in my area for a BG808 that is about the same vintage. The tubes are burnt, but I it would be nice to have a parts machine (provided the one I already have ever gets working).
My question: The set has 30,000+ hours on it. I know Marquees are rated to last 100,000 hours (just ask anyone selling one ), but is 30,000 excessive for a BG808?

Most of that time the projector was most likely in standby . The boards should be fine . You might need to replace a cap here or there but not till they fail . I say go for it ! No shipping cost as it's local . Offer them $125 for the parts and show them the cost to retube it .

I see you were the lucky winner. What was the condition of it?

Very clean inside. Tubes were R/G/B 8/6/7. Hours were about 17,400. Runs great. Kids play games on it now.
