My new reciever has at 12v trigger signal and I was wondering if theres a way of turning my 8500 on with it. I no longer have a HTPC to turn it on with RS-232 and the long IR signal seems to be difficult to learn into my universal....
Thanks guys,
Wes

Hello
Electrohome used to offer an outboard box called the Communication Processor module, which may be adaptable; it fired off projector commands from contact closures; the problem is trying to find one, these are from the ECP days 1992.........

I'd like to know the opposite direction: how to control an external 110V fan from the 8500, so the exhaust fan gets triggered whenever the 8500 is on. Is there a good signal I could use for that? Maybe a 12V line that could trigger a 110V relay?

I love you all.
My Harmony 1000 will arrive soon so this'll be my savior.
Thanks again!
Wes
