I've had my Runco (rebranded 1209s) mounted and in use for a few weeks now. During all the setup, raster centering and such I never saw any problem in my nearly new tubes.

Then today I notice a red line that is always showing. It runs horizontally from about the center of the screen off to the right edge of the screen. Its always there regardless of what signal or lack of signal is being displayed. It's centered about in the middle vertically.

I am hoping this isn't the case, but did I get a line burned into the CRT face? Sadly it is very noticeable in any reasonably bright scene. Now that I've seen it I can't not see it, if you know what I mean.

It's most likely adjustment problem.

Q: I have an odd horizontal line visible at times, what is it?

Try backing off or your Linear Balance. That can cause a line across the screen. Don't us any more of it than you need to.
