I think I've made up my mind to go the media server route when all my source equipment is relocated to the garage. The theater stays the same with nothing more than seating, speakers, projector, screen and Crestron touch panel. As I am PC challanged, I will not be attempting to build one. Instead, I will buy one that is pre configured and tested so that it will be for the most part plug-and-play. I have e-mailed both Cellar Cinemas and Fusion but neither have replied. Does anyone here know of some other reputable companies that would fit the bill? The garage will be getting a makeover first. Thare's already a 9"LC and 100 inch screen hanging out there for football, baseball, skinflicks, whatever
A new air conditioned rack closet, two racks wide will be built. I never thought the single rack would be filled, it's stuffed.
Nothing fancy, no pool table or bar. Just seating, a refridgerator for the beer, recycle bin for the bottles and a trash can for the pizza boxes

AVS at one time offered a nice discount on the S1 Digital line.
Not sure if they still have a relationship.

Chip
Are you looking for a server or a player?
I was out in Texas a couple of months ago when my brother bought 3 Dell dual xeon 1600SC SERVERS from a guy in Austin. I went to pick them up and found them packed for shipping. I had to unpack one to get 3 of them in my LS. The third one I shipped UPS from Austin to St. Louis to the tune of $45.00 (this left room for the wife and dog on the trip home). They were packed extremely well so no problems. The cost for the servers was, I think, less than $300 with no memory, processors, software, or drives. The cases looked like they could handle about 10 drives. I don't buy my PCs but the brother was extremely happy with the price. If you like, I could get you more info.
