Great effort I guess.

"But I have upgraded to High Def."
Doesn't the 1031 do 1080i? If not, it should for $4K!

OK, this is totally cruel guys, but I suggest that we all "watch" it in my eBay. That way he'll have a bunch of people watching his insane auction when he checks the "Items I'm Selling" section.

Ive already asked him questions about the unit I asked him if he knew this unit was really worth. No reply yet. I guess thats what happens when fleabay runs the no insertion fee specials.

He probably bid on it himself... Moron. Have fun paying those $4,000 auction end fees.

If this guy pulls this off, I'm going to have to put up the 1272 I just got for free from a brooklyn art studio that was cleaning out their upstairs.

don't people look at completed items before listing stuff? I just can't believe someone would even think this was in the realm of possibility...

There's a few guys who buy up old, beat-to-hell LCD projectors that are 800x600 or 1024x768, and buy-it-now them at $1k+ with descriptions saying they're 1080p and some screenshots. The shots look good for people used to an old tube TV, and the things will display a 1080p signal - just downscaled.
Sucker born every minute, etc, etc. Pisses me off, though. One guy even had the audacity to splash "1080p capable" and "1080p!" all over and then link to the projectorcentral specs page where it was listed as 1024x768!
Sigh.

Yeah I guess. And I am a red blooded capitalist, but I guess even with my flawed morals I'd pity this guy if he were doing this "on purpose" as opposed to being a complete altruistic rube.
Rube... that's a great word.
