That's a great idea!! When we built our house, we invited all the construction guys to the house for a party after we closed. They LOVED it, and were very appreciative. Several said it was the first time they'd ever seen the inside of a house they worked on after it was finished! Most of them just do the framing, or the plumbing, or whatever, and never get to see what their work looks like after all the finishing touches. They just move on to the framing/plumbing/etc on the next house.

That's a nice gesture. Except in Arnold's case, it'll be a hell of a party, and he'll need multiple showings: 2:00 - Architecture/Engineering... 4:00 Excavation, foundation, framing... 6:00 Plumbing, electrical, mechanical... 8:00 Drywall, carpentry, paint, carpet... Wink

I installed the security, intercom, central vac, etc in a 15,000 sq ft house 20 some years ago. It was by far the largest house in the area and was a home builder / bankers personnel house. He had a big party for all of the construction workers after the house was finished and ended up having to replace most of the carpet from the mess and cigarette burns. Sad

It's been about a month since the last construction photos. As you can see things are moving along now. I have been working intensely with the Stewart FilmScreen people and they have been able to increase the maximum microperf usable height dimension to 14.5'. This will allow a 26' wide 16 x 9 image. We are currently working on a variable horizontal masking system to enhance the 2:35 and 2:40 images.

Wow, Arnold - It's really coming together. I love the detail work... The painted stencils on the ceiling, awesome plaster proscenium, the handrails... Amazing.

I can't wait to see this room with the scaffolding out and the all the finishes complete.

Awesome.

I'm really impressed with the level of detail that is going into this space. It's giving me some ideas for my next room.

To have it done or DIY? The man-hours involved with this level of detail must be staggering.

DIY. I never thought about applying a stencilled pattern in an HT until I saw those pics.

My HT walls aren't stenciled but they are hand-painted. The undercoat is a deep purple, then there is lighter purple and gold "veining." It looks kinda like a big amethyst crystal. Smile
