Can I get these GT17's to work for my screen?

Ok, I am finally getting motivated to set up my 10pg, but I am having a problem with the screen size. Basically I currently have a 140" wide by 79" tall (16:9) da-lite matte white screen up that I have been using with my D50 for the past year or so. My plan has always been to put up a smaller screen when I set up my 10pg, I even went and got a piece of DW to make it out of, but I just dont want to let go of my bigger screen. I know everyone will say that its to big, but honestly I have been pretty happy with it on my D50 and now stepping up to a 1080p 9" LC em focusing machine with 300 more lumens I just dont think I will be disappointed. So my question is can I make the gt17's work at that screen size? What problems will show up if I try it? If it helps I will be most likely setting it up with a 0 degree throw angle because I dont want to have to reinforce the ceiling (it would definitely need it) because I will be moving in the next year.

Thanks for your help

Sorry, the GT-17 will not work perfectly at that screen size. I found that on my old 118" wide screen, that a GT-26 worked slightly better than my GT17's did. At 140" wide I think the difference will be more dramatic.

The GT-26 are very rare though, and hard to find. More so than GT-17's I think. So I would probably talk to Tom. But make sure to use USPS "Express" when mailing to him. The normal USPS airmail has up & down delivery times compared with the 5-7 business day typical times for Express for Tom's part of the World.

The GT17's definitely won't work at that width. I have a 128" x 72" screen, and they were set to the extreme end stops at the max focus adjust limit.

The next problem I ran into was that, according to specs, the GT26's would be at the other extreme - the min adjust focus limit. At your 140" width you would probably be OK with the GT26's.

I ended up using a set a HD10's which are in the middle of the barrel adjustment range. I'm using a rear screen setup with the projector set at the centerlines of the screen with no keystone required. In this arrangement, I didn't notice much difference between the GT17's and the HD10's.
