yeah, very sad news indeed.

We used to chat almost every day a couple of years ago. Conny had developed an interest in CRT PJs and wanted to know literally everything about them. Setup tips, calibration tips, scaler recommendation, the whole deal.

May he rest in peace.

I would be grateful if some of his family & friends would take the time to send a link to any obituary information along with any pictures so that we may put a face with the man.
I always enjoyed my exchanges with Conny.

I am saddened to hear this news.

I never spoke with him but shared a kinship in our namesake. His was one of the first names that stood out to me over 18 months ago because of his screen name, when I first joined AVS and didn't know who was who.
To live and die is natural but to be taken too soon is a cosmic tragedy. I wish his family the strength to see beyond the despair and the ability to rejoice in his life.

Oh nooo.... That's sad news indeed, to hear that the seller of my 909 has died. The last time we e-mailed was last wednesday. I'll always remember him as someone who did what he said and said what he did...

May he rest in peace...

Sounds like the man was well respected, had a lot of friends, a good family, and he just got done doing what he really liked doing, installing CRT's. If that link to the newspaper was a picture of a his wreck it looks like his passing was instantaneous and he didn't suffer. Been my experience that when it's your time, and it will be someday for all of us, you really can't ask for much more than living a life like that.

My sincere condolences to his family and friends

Just heard the sad news through Spotmatic on the dutch HT forum. Allthough i never had contact with Mr. King, in this small CRT world he was a big name, one of the few real CRT wizards on this planet. My sincere condolences to his family and friends.

You've had a horrible day too my friend. I feel for you.Condolences to the families of your buddys friends.
I wish you the strength during this trying time you'll need to provide the solace and comfort to everyone affected.

As far as what to say at at time like this, I wish I could help you. I've lost two children, and heard a million words of comfort. Although I appreciated them all, and remember most, it was the simple hugs that meant the most. The rest is something that has to be worked out by oneself. I'm still working through it and probably will until the day I die.

I wish you peace and strength during this trying time.

Greg

Very sad news indeed! There was something about CRT's that triggered him and he got really excited about them.

I actually have a personal story to tell:
Although I live in Holland and he lived in Sweden, I actually visited him once a couple of years ago. He was having some trouble with a 1292 and when visiting my brother, who basically lives around the corner of his place, I decided to visit hem and see if I could help him out. While spending the afternoon in his basement, which he was converting into a HomeCinema together with a bunch of friends, we had a very pleasant time. He served JulMust, some Swedish Christmas drink, and we did nothing but talking about CRT's and setting up and calibrating his CRT. Some pictures of his happier times can still be found here: http://www.cimagine.se/album/index26.html
Although we've never met before in person, we both had a great afternoon.

Condolences to his family and friends.

Thanks Greg.

Christ I can't imagine what I would do if I ever lost a child, or my wife. I lost a child hood friend and her new born child in the tsunami in 2004, and it freaked me out. And seeing her husband is still a stab in the heart, because what can you say?

What to say is the hardest thing ever, or maybe it is when to call. On the one point there is nothing that can be said, on the other ... it can mean everything, if it is done at the right time. So confusing.
