my Panasonic DV camera keeps eating tapes. I don't know if any of you know how to fix these things or if its worth fixing. i know we're living in a disposable technology world.. it pisses me off. maybe i should just sell it on ebay for parts or fix, put it towards another one. preferably a 3ccd model this time. i would like to get into film making, so i want one that produces a nice image and has manual functions and a mic input. but the thing is i'm pretty poor now and can't really afford an expensive camera. besides... i like this camera, so if it was fixable i'd maybe try it. but the problem might just come back.

This problem is best left to a Panasonic repair facility unless Tinman wants a shot at it. There could also be some upgrade to replace some gear from plastic to metal, I know Sony had a bunch of those back in the day..

If it's out of warranty with no recall, figure on $150-200 from a repair shop though, those things are a bitch to work on!

nah... i have it listed on ebay now... maybe i can get some money for it despite it's deficiency.. i think i want a classic Sony DCR-VX1000 3CCD Camcorder. so i think i'll just save my pennies for one of those. i'm a college student so money is hard to come by heh. its a shame though, it had nice manual over ride features and an external mic input.
