I'm also concerned about them getting banged up. Cox is taking a beating and Blackmon was limping bad after he ran that interception halfway back on that very last play.

That was a close one!

Auburn pulled it out, though. Really put it on 'em at the end.

We'll see y'all on November 10th between the hedges. I will be there.

Major understatement. I guess that's the downside to your coach holding closed practices - you only get to hear reports from the homers. I think everyone in the program expected us to give you guys a better game. And to top it all off, our guys were supposedly stressing better tackling all through the offseason. I may shoot the coach an email and suggest they use live bodies next time, beacause they were getting juked out of their jocks by simple minor changes of direction.

I'm going to officially revert back to my outlook from last year towards my team: "bull****, prove it on the field".

Maybe after the first game...The Bolts are going to set their climb towards the playoffs back a week!!!
There are six of us going to the game, four are Bear fans...but the two that count are the season ticket holders.
As I've told my friends who are Bear fans...hope Grossman can play like a pro, because it he doesn't, it'll be over before it even starts.

Hey fuzzybee,

Just had to chime in,

Interesting opening day, the Tigers pulled it out, way to go War Eagles. Congrates Auburn fans, your team hung tough.

The Jackets looked impressive. As an old Tech fan, (have not missed a home game for over 20 years) I can recall some really disappointing loses to Notre Dame, and a victory without throwing a pass. Always fun to watch a game where your team beats an old rival. Looked real good on my NEC XG.

Rex sucked in college, he's worse now. B-left aint marino, but he's better than grossman

OK - for the Last time..

It is the Auburn TIGERS - not the Auburn Wareagles. Rolling Eyes

We say hi to each other by saying "Wareagle" (as it is our battle cry).
Like Bama fans that say "slap your momma" to express how happy they are.... Or GT fans that drive POS (aka wramblin wrecks). Surprised Shocked

Actually you guys have a much better QB sitting in the backup position right now...he might even be better than Leftwich.
I watched Griese play against my Chargers when he was a rookie (he was drafted by Denver) and couldn't understand why he never got the chance to mature into a good pro. He seemed to have all the physical and mental tools to do it, but Shanahan never started him past the first season. As I now understand it, it was more about his leadership skills which are ZERO...still, look what the Bear did with Grossman last year. I think they'd go allot farther with Griese.
Football is the only sport I follow, and I'm pretty rabid when it comes to the Bolts (been a season ticket holder since the late 80's)
My best football friend is from Chicago, and used to live in Cal, however he has taken a job in Georgia...he's flying out here just to go to this game!
Here's to both teams getting out of the game Healthy, because it's going to be very physical! And your Bears will be on the worst end of it!!! (sorry, just have to add a little smack)

I was only 5 back then, but that's a classic loved by all Auburn fans...

Punt Bama Punt is the nickname given to the most famous game of the college football rivalry between the Auburn Tigers and the Alabama Crimson Tide known as the Iron Bowl.

The game was played on December 2, 1972 at Legion Field in Birmingham, Alabama. The #2-ranked and undefeated (10-0) Alabama team led by head coach Bear Bryant came into the game as a 16-point favorite over the Shug Jordan-coached Tigers, who entered the game with a record of 8-1. For the first three and a half quarters the Tide seemed to have the game well in hand.

Alabama led 16-0 with ten minutes left in the game. With less than 10 minutes remaining, an Auburn drive stalled and managed only a field goal, which made the score 16-3. Reportedly, Jordan's decision resulted in boos from both sides of the crowd: Auburn fans for the appearance of giving up, and Alabama fans because it ruined the point spread. On the ensuing possession Alabama was forced to punt. Auburn's Bill Newton blocked the punt and his teammate David Langner ran the ball back 25 yards for an Auburn touchdown, narrowing the score to 16-10. Several minutes later, Alabama was forced to punt again and once again Newton blocked the punt and Langner again returned it for a touchdown. Gardner Jett kicked the extra point and Auburn won the game 17-16.

With a few minutes to play in the game, Auburn's David Langner intercepted an Alabama pass to stop a come back. As he went over to the sideline, Coach Shug Jordan was upset with him. Langner said, "But, coach, I intercepted the pass," to which Coach Jordan said, "Yeah, but our plan was to make them punt."

In June 2007, Punt Bama Punt was ranked #55 by ESPN.com in its list of the 100 defining moments of college football. In July 2007, CollegeFootballNews.com ranked the game #85 on its list of the 100 Greatest Finishes.

Completely off topic, but Clarence: What exactly is in your avatar pic?

Looks like some sort of transformer in the middle (or maybe a relay/solenoid) that's caught fire...

The replacement motor arrived, but I haven't had time to play with troubleshooting the original problem(s).

I'm out of town this week for work, then I'm flying to visit Pete next weekend and we're going to the Auburn game. Thumbs Up

So I'll play with the jukebox in a couple of weeks. Hopefully no more fires Wink
