After seeing all the pics from hdfury shots and home meets these are lunch bag "letdowns". I guess for some it would be just great. Nice tubes too. and "without-LCD-pixals" Wink

14K run hours is no biggee. My BG800 had ~21K run hours on it when I bought it and ~26K when I sold it. 2 years later it's still running fine at a friend's house.

How is it that a crt pj can have that many hours, but no wear (or very little) on it?

In the case of my machine (and possibly the one in this thread), it was retubed before I got my hands on it.

The other thing is that these Barco 800/801 tubes just don't wear! I put over 5-6K on mine and it left with the tubes as minty when I first got them!

Same goes for mine. I just am not seeing wear except for some wear before I got it. If you properly setup (ie. full use of phospher not driving contrast/brightness too high) it goes a long way. I think a lot of PJs are in unfriendly environments (employees don't care if it is setup correctly, don't care if it is left on, don't control ambient light and just increase brightness and contrast to max). Good we have Curt to act as the SPCA of CRT's to give these poor things a home (or at least a final resting place).

Don't some PJs' run their clocks even if tubes are in suspend mode (ie. off)?

Yes, but Barco's don't. Barcos do run the clock however when the unit is on but in "picture mute" mode. I've heard of some Barco's left on 24/7 and only taken out of picture mute for 1 hour week for slide presentations.
