Moome deems the card 100% tested and completed. This is only the final verification by someone who knows XG's and has an eye for detail. If Jerry doesn't find anything after, say, a week or so of testing then I'd say they're ready to go. Kal

Okay so we know that Jerry has had the card for over a week now, but most of us don't know anything more than that. Kal & Jerry, can you say yet whether any other issues were discovered? Kal, I'm sure if you had heard anything more from Moome about whether or not the cards were shipping out, you would have said so, but can you say anything more about Jerry's test card?

thanks,

cj

Jerry did a complete test and basically liked what he saw. He was not sent the remote for some reason so he couldn't test that. We're just waiting to see what Moome thinks.

Yeah, that sounds close to about right...he sent me an e-mail stating the new metal was two to three weeks out.
I would think if everything fits as it should, they'll ship after that.

Kenny posted this on 26 April, three weeks ago, so according to this estimate, the new metal should be in. From what we've read, Jerry's testing went rather well. Did your test card have the LED Jerry? So Moome should have the new metal and the new boards and should be able to ship them out now, right? Moome, any comments and status updates please?

thanks,

cj

FYI: Moome, for some reason, doesn't seem to be able to access this website. He says it's crazy slow for him but should be better when he moves in July. So if you're looking for Moome to comment, you'll have to email him directly I'm afraid.

mfffmmm mfffffmm uffm uuuffm... I don't know how much I can comment here due to the NDA. I'm not sure which LED is related to the sheet metal update but I would guess my card didn't have it. I have some questions for moome and will ask for a delivery update as I send that.

Hey Jerry, did you get a chance to send those questions off to Moome yet? If you did, I'm assuming you haven't received any sort of response yet....

I asked the question last week. We have had a few exchanges. Be assured that activity is going on to be sure things are right and ready for release.

Hi, everyone

I am new in the forum, but I have been using Curt's services for a long time.

I need this card, too, but I have no idea how to get in contact with Moome.

Any help?

Thanks in advance

What do you need to contact Moome for? If you want to pre-order a card you simply do it here: http://www.curtpalme.com/NEC_XG-FULLHD.shtm

You can contact Moome at: moome@curtpalme.com

Moome sent me a picture of the XG-FULLHD with the final faceplate:

From what I understand they're basically ready to go. Moome says it should be another week or two. The last thing that needs tweaking (thanks to Kenny and Jerry's input) is the gamma adjustment: The range isn't big enough. Moome's givend some new values of resistors to use so he's just waiting to hear back if the range is better. Once ok those values will go into the ones sent out to customers of course.

Kenny & Jerry have been very helpful to Moome in making this a (hopefully!) better product for everyone.

Another update:

So Jerry's resistor change to get the gamma to fall into the perfect range was a success according to Jerry. Cards should start shipping in a week or two.

Given that's all pretty much done now, I've told Kenny and Jerry that they're free to post their thoughts and opinions here if they want to. Please don't hound them. Smile

Yipee!!

If I place my order now will there be enough cards in the first batch to cover my order as well? Particularly given that it has been possible to order since last year.

Nice work guys!

Yes, The first batch of 50 is about half sold out. When a batch sells out I disable the order button so that you know whether you're in or not.

All I want to see is a 1080p@72 Hz 1 on 1 off pattern screen shot, that's all I care about. Green only please! Mr. Green

Okay Mike, I'll bite. Being somewhat of a newbie, it's not overly obvious to me what exactly the green only screenshot will tell you. Also, I guess depending on the shutter speed, I'm not sure what differences a single photograph will show you regarding a 72Hz refresh rate, except that the card will do it.... If you can explain these choices to me, I'm sure I would learn a few new things about this, and hopefully a few others will benefit as well...

thanks,

cj
