Kal,
Does that mean until there are 50 preorders there will not be production? I was holding off until there are a few reports by owners. Right now I'm pretty happy with my HTPC, but if a few owners report it as a winner it might convince me to pull the trigger.

Being as we have all had our credit cards charged, we are helping pay for the manufacturing of our product...would it be unreasonable for Moome to come in here once a week and give us a progress report?
I am being charged interest on a product that I do not have, and based on the wait period we have experienced, may not have for several months.
It would be nice to know what's going on.

I don't think that's an unreasonable request. I've consistently asked him to keep people informed of what's going on.
Correction: What I mean is, is that I'm always requesting that he let ME know what's going on so that I can post here. I typically email him once a week asking what's going on (for all products). He's just not very good at communicating. I prefer that he go through me as it often takes 3-4 emails back/forth to get a clear idea of what he means too. I'm also constantly pushing him to be more realistic/pessimistic with his dates and ask for background info as to where he gets his timelines so that I can verify whether they make sense. Too often the answer is "I will ship starting next week" when there' basically no way in hell that's true.

Thanks for the update Kal,
Since you mentioned it somewhat in one of your earlier posts, can you give us a bit of interpretation on that? I'm assuming MUX-HD is a completely different product, and that is the only product that will ship out tomorrow. Is there any reason to expect the XG-HD is right behind it? Do we know that the boards have been ordered or printed yet? Any guesses (and I know that's all it would be) as to when we will receive these cards?
thanks,
cj

Kal please don't take this as anything pointed at you because it is definitely not.
This MUX HD is all well and good, but it doesn't give us any kind of update on our product.
Moome, is the XG card at the manufacturing facility, if so, about how long does it take until they start to ship?
If it's not at the manufacturing facility, then about when can we expect it there?
These are the important things to update us on.

Moome says he's getting close with this card.
He wouild like a few more 'real world' shakedown tests (mostly of the software) of the new NEC XG HDMI 1.3 input card so he's looking for some volunteers.
Anyone interested in testing this card for Moome should email me at webmaster@curtpalme.com. Please include the following information:
- Why you think you're qualified to do this testing
- What your video chain setup consists of (source devices/screen size/XG projector type/resolutions used)
- What your experience is with the XG chassis (ie: whether you set up the projector yourself or had someone else do it for you)
- Other HDMI converters you may have tried
- Whether you have access to a digital camera to take screenshots like these
- Any electronics experience you might have
Preference will be given to those who know their way around the XG chassis and are comfortable setting up new memory blocks/etc. Sorry, but if you don't the difference between image area and raster, or edge enhancement from macroblocking, please do not apply.
You will be send a (hopefully) final build of the card and you would be able to keep the card after the testing of course. If you already had one of the cards pre-ordered, I'm sure Moome will let you cancel and keep the freebie.

Competition was tough, lots of very qualified people wrote in within the first hour of me posting! Insane. I've picked 2 names that I think covers everything needed and them some:
JArseneau: Owns 4 working XGs ! (135LC the main one), knows the chassis inside and out, Electrical Engineer with tools ('scope/DMM/etc) and experience with SMD soldering, uses Moome's older XG DVI card, has used HDfury, has lots of HDMI/DVI sources: PS3, satellite HD box, Toshiba HD DVD, Oppo switcher, MyHD tuner card, HTPC with Nvidia graphics card.
KennyG: Well known XG owner/guru for very long time who's been helpful to other XG owners in the past on AVS, has set up 5 XGs as well as other projectors. Knows the chassis inside and out, electronics experience. Owns Moome's older XG DVI card. Has HDMI switcher, Samsung Blu-ray player, HD DirectTV receiver, etc. Was one of the first to pre-order the XG-FULLHD card.
Thanks again everyone.
Kenny: I emailed you as I'll need your mailing address/phone number to send off to Moome.

Dang! For some reason I didn't get an e-mail notice for this post. Would have liked to have been a tester, though I'm sure the ones you picked are best qualified....

Kenny, since you post on here quite often anyway, you'll have to let us know when you receive the board and how well it works. I'm anxious to get it installed and do another complete setup to dial in my picture the best I can...

You know IF Kenny did get the board , he would have to agree to a NDA, he could not talk about it until cleared by moome .
These were pre release boards to test.

That's too bad for Kenny....I don't see what it would matter since he already paid for 2 cards the Gen 1 and the new version. I do think its a good thing moome is doing real world testing rather then let the end user debug the product.

You might still get it Kenny. Yesterday Moome emailed me to say he'd send Jerry his card this weekend and I asked if he could send you yours as well if the cards were truly pretty much "ready to go". He hasn't responded yet.
As for the NDA, if the version that Jerry (and possibly Kenny) test turns out to be the final version (which we hope is the case) then they will be allowed to express their thoughts here.
