Hell, I sent out TWO SETS of covers to you! If you SWEAR to me that you didn't get EITHER set, then yes, I'll give you back your
money.

Never again will I do business internationally. Why, when it seems that half the stuff never arrives?

Incidentally, everyone else's issues have been satisfied or are in the process of being satisfied in the next few days.

I never mail international anymore unless it's by Express. The regular airmail sucks big time. 1/2 my deliveries get there within two weeks, the other half takes two months.

One item took two months to get there via airmail, then sat for a week before they mailed it back to me without ever even contacting the recipient or myself. Laughing
One day four months after shipping it (HD-A1 player), I just got a stupid surprise at my door in the form of a returned HD-A1. Shocked
Next time around I shipped it back to him via Express and he got it four days later. Neutral

FedEx to Australia is now guaranteed delivery in a week, btw. If using Express. And it only costs about 10-15% more than regular airmail. Smile

I've had a set of plates sent to Italy, never arrived. never heard from again. The Buyer was VERY understanding. I got concerned and sent another set and they arrived fine. The buyer seemed less concerned than I in fact.
In fact I'll go add his name to the good buyer thread now. Angelo <newsingle2000@yahoo.it>

I agree! Chris has done the right thing Thumbs Up and should be commended for it, especially after the verbal beating he's taken lately.

I second the no shipping overseas policy. So many things can go wrong it's just not worth the headache.

I send stuff out all the time from Australia - over 200 items in the last 3 years.

I haven't had a single issue with international buyers. I do screen them fairly well (eg paypal verified etc).

I honestly don't understand why some sellers wont ship internationally - (with the exception of Nigeria and Indonesia) - places like Australia are 1st world. I'd like to see on Videogon "sells to: US, Canada, Australia" Smile

Provided all the checks and balances are there, why NOT ship internationally? It seems to me that reading above, problems like items not arriving should be covered by insurance. I do agree that some countries might not have the same standards as 1st world countries but please don't heap Australia in to that sorry bunch!

I guess I'm frustrated - there are a lot of good items that appear on places like Videogon and Ebay - I'm a perfectly good buyer, my money is just as good as anyone else's - but when I email the sellers to ask if they will ship to AUstralia, I get responses like "sorry, I don't like selling to foreigners" .. 6 months later, the item is still there, the seller has dropped his price by 20% but he still wont sell to me. Argh!!

What else can go wrong that isn't just as likely to go wrong selling locally? I've heard so far "things get lost" - but things get lost sending locally too

Kind regards

I have no problems at all shipping internationally. I don't have as many international shipping experiences as you, Oliverg. Only about 30-40 transactions overseas, ranging from $30 to $5700. But you HAVE to ship via "USPS Express" to get the best overall value in shipping with small items!
And for large items like a projector, I use Bax Global. Which requires that I ship from a business. So you have to have a friend who will let you use their business name.

Otherwise, you will end up being screwed. Sad

You're lucky you get a response from them, I have asked dozens of times and onlt once has anyone responded and that was the "sorry, no shipping overseas, things go missing" reply.

Things can go missing because of shipping containers falling from ships (very common), ships sinking (less common), Planes crashing (less common), the odd bad person in the shipping company or customs taking things home, theft from delivery warehouse or vehicles during breakins, packages left on doorsteps by lazy couriers or posties that get stolen by somebody walking or driving past.

I think a more likely cause is the person receiving the package, it is left on their doorstep by the lazy courier/postie without them having to sign for it (if a signature is required sometimes the courier/postie will sign for it as any signature will do and they just want to get the delivery done) so they keep it and tell the seller they haven't received it hoping to get a refund or a second one for free.

Just make it a condition that items sent internationally must have insurance and require a signature on delivery, the honest buyers won't have much of a problem with this as it ensures their item arrives or they get it covered by insurance if it doesn't arrive.

I think it's great that he's finally doing the right thing but "commended" is not exactly the word I would use for it. Had he done the right thing from the beginning, the verbal bashing would have never happened. He set him self up for it and got what he deserved. I just hope it's over and a lesson has been learned.

All these things can happen in the US as well. When you point that out to the guys that say "things go missing" they don't reply.

I agree - as long as a signature is required and there is insurance, the seller is protected.

Ok, I'll do that.

I won't be able to ship it before Monday.

Hi Chris

Have waited another week and the covers haven't shown, so would it be possible to send me another set as stated. If I happen to somehow end up with two sets I will happily pay for the extra set.

Many thanks

I couldn't ship them yet this week because of work. Yesterday alone was a 14.5 hour work day for me, with 450 miles of travel involved. Needless to say, I couldn't get to the fedex office!

Tomorrow...I hope.

Chris

If you sent covers via the fedex office then perhaps they can tell you what happened to them. If not a $125 refund is due as I have received nothing. I have done business with forum member CZ Eddie (GT-17 lenses from Videogon), eBay seller 1egor2 who sends stuff economy and I always get it (HVPS etc) As stated before if two sets of covers ever show up at my door I'll pay you for the other set but the longest I ever waited for an economy parcel was 8 weeks, it is now 6 months since I bought the covers.

CJ, you are simply the biggest piece of sh!t I've ever seen online. I hope people will really learn this time to not deal with you in any way shape or form. I guess it is good you have your mom because I don't see how anyone else could stand you.

Never in my life did I think I would agree so wholeheartedly with Dave.

Well said Thumbs Up

I basically agree, but I don't believe in holding grudges. Why should anyone rectify bad situations if no one forgives them? If Chris is making things right, he should be rewarded. A pat on the back is in order in my opinion.

That is of coarse if he is indeed making things right...

The last time I shipped over seas the shipment was lost in English customs for 3 months. No one knew where it was, no one seemed to care. But my customer, who had paid me $1,200 certainly cared. It had all the appearances of me ripping him off.

Maybe it's different for you guys, but everything I sell can easily be sold in the US. There's absolutely no reason for me to put myself thru that again, and I don't.
