As a child of the 80s, I admit I was geeked out to see the flick. So I snuck out of work early last week and went to check it out. First, let's deal with the changes made to the whole backstory and to the shapes of the Transformers themselves. I hated that part. Poor Bumblebee. And Megatron was just plain weird looking, and not the massive gun anymore. Ok, so that's over with. On to the movie itself. The girl was just absolutely smoking hot. Shea Lebouf was really kind of funny. His parents were way over-stereotyped, but oh well. The special effects were good but there were some areas with severe compression artificats and way too obvious use of a blue screen. The Sector 7 stuff went beyond goofy and into the realm of the absurd. The "Dance Dance Revolution" hacker living with his grandma was so dumb I think I lost brain cells watching it.

But I liked the movie. I can't help it. Some really funny lines, great action at the end, hot chick, and Transformers. All in all, a great popcorn flick. And it's coming to HD DVD and BD in the winter!
