Keep in mind that you need to tell the PC to use the 'Digital' output on your video card 'display settings' to get a picture to go out the DVI instead of Analog (VGA). The simplest way to do this is to have a monitor one of the cards outputs and the projector connected to the other. With the active display you can go into the multiple display setup where you can either turn on both outputs or just the new one you want for the projector. Make sense?

I remember having issues with the Sony IFB card at 1440x960 I think it was. It didn't like that resolution. I've never tried 1440 x 1080 but maybe it's close enough that it doens't like it either.

Thanks for the responses.
A bit more detail. I have a Viewsonic G90f+ CRT monitor on one output of the video card. When I plug or unplug a vga connector into output 2 (which may have the XG on the other end) I get the connect and disconnect bong from Windoows. When I connect a DVI to HDMI cable from the IIS card I get no bong. The link led on the IIS card I believe should light but it does not. I do get a red "select" LED because the switch is in that position, but if I switch to component it happily gives me the yellow LED even though there is nothing connected.
I have tried 2 radically different DVI to HDMI cable sets with the same result.
Jerry, I think you are refering to the first sceen in the Basic Catalyst setup which lets you choose among the possible displays. I only get the Viewsonic monitor and Display 2 just does not exist at any point in the basic or advanced Catalyst setup procedures.
It seems to me in my ignorance that the Mooome card just does not know that the HDMI is connected, but I cannot decide why. Is it some problem with the EDID, is the video card giving a signal that the IIS card cannot recognise or is there a problem with the IIS card although it was working with upscaled standard DVD over DVI to HDMI from other sources.
The intention of course is to use the IIS to select from a number of possilble sources to the XG.

I can’t say about the Moome IIS but the early XG cards had issues where it did not like to be connected “hot” or in other words connected with the projector turned on. It would not initialize correctly, best results were obtained by having everything connected then turning on the projector and then the source device. It seems like there were always issues if the HD-DVD player was turn on before the projector the device would not handshake properly it seems like I had the same problem with my HTPC.
Do you not have anymore RGBHV inputs on your IIS? The reason I ask is to be honest I just see no reason to use the digital input card if you have an HTPC, the D/A’s on the ATI card are much better (14 Bit) than Moome’s 12 Bit D/A, & there are no bandwidth or HDCP constraints.
Moome cards are great for PS3, Blu-ray players and cable boxes but for an HTPC in my opinion it’s just not needed.

Hi Mike,
I have been playing with turning things on and off. Tonight I carefully turned the XG on first, waited a moment then the IIS and finally the HTPC. No joy.
I have a spare VGA card for the IIS and probably in the end, that is what I will use. After doing the above checks I removed the HDMI cable and replaced it with a standard VGA cable and, once I had told the Catalyst centre that I wanted the second output to clone the first I had a image from the XG.
What I am really trying to do is prove the HDMI input so that when and if i have a device that needs it, I am confident that it works. So far only frustration except when using analog signals from the Oppo standard DVD player. I have a scaler in line which I can set to output the normal 1440 by 1080 I use from the HTPC to the XG and the HDMI on the Moome IIS card accepts that happily.
Isn't new technology helful
