That always screws me up. The "gamma boost" boxes don't boost gamma, they reduce it.
I know why your picture isn't as bright as Cliff's stack - I think his screen is 10'. Your 12' screen has 44% more screen area, so you are sacrificing some light. If/When you exchange your tubes to 9", you will be able to have your cake and eat it too!

You guys are a real bad influence on me!
I actually looked to see if there is enough room to do a quad-stack-blend as I have several spare XGLC's. I determined it would work by mounting the second set directly below the first - I am crazy!!!
One thing is for sure - It would be real easy to do 3-D.

Thank you guys,
your words are incouraging...
Now I'm going to swap tubes, even if the actual set display a very nice image (but it has some uneven wear, detectable on full white or very clear uniform images; my luck, the wear is in the bottom of raster, so it quite never displays).
BTW, I will sell the set of tubes, with full LC assembly for a cheap price; so if someone is interested... can look at buy and sell subforum in next days..

I'm bak..
Had a few more things to do before wrapping things up. Now that's all done, I'll be posting more shots. These were taking this morning with more light in the room than I would want, but I thought I'd take a few anyway.

Mike,
Post your settings in imageshack and then a scene from Avatar with the time bar showing so that I can match frame for frame. That way the only difference will be the BD player. I'm using a Sony 400 disc mega changer set to 1080P 60HZ no processor and only the 4600HD's on board gamma (gamma on/off) set to on.

Oh come on Chip. You want me to get into comparison shots with your Ampro..
1080P 72hz verses your 1080P 60hz........The Radiance with its Super gamma section and your gamma switch in the player.......your calibrated Top End Ampro against my un-calibrated 9500LC......no way!
What chances could I possibly have against the only Ampro projector that actually worked for more than six months. And the first to wear out a set of tubes..

I'll make it easy on you. Just tell me the imageshack settings you use. I'll post a picture. Feel free to beat it up.

Mike,
I take it you've never done any greyscale calibration? Your colours are off (too red). There's also some ringing on the left side.
Maybe it's your camera, but blacks seem crushed too and the image is very soft. Looks like DVD.
I'm sure they look much better in person, but I have to say, if I was an ignorant viewer and saw these screenshots and someone said "this is what CRT projectors look like", I'd be running the other way.
Look at some of the G90 screenshots done by Clliff & Clarence in this thread. Now those look amazing and it's not because they have G90.

Read what's in the thread ("Finished testing my second board being sent out"). meaning I put a VIM in my projector for testing before sending it out. So of course, why would I calibrate the projector to a VIM I'm testing?? And if you read further, you'll see where I've been almost posting in every thread that It's not yet finished setup and calibrated.
And dang, i got a call less than an hour ago from someone saying how nice the shots looked.
So I've been posting shots from a not yet calibrated or setup CRT projector.......but that's going to change this weekend..
