Everyone asks the same thing lol. I have looked for flicker specifically but cannot see it Mr. Green

I had a visit from a ht enthusiast from the digital camp(he has a JVC RS600) last night, and showed him the Sony G90. I used 1080p48hz he did not notice it at all.

BTW, he was really impressed with low level black level and depth. He also commented that he thought it was sufficent sharp in his eyes.

It is really cool that a nearly 17 year old projector can be compared to a top of the line 2016 JVC RS600. (Just remember that I say compared, I do not say better or worse).

I just read this and I must say that is impressive. Once I get my G70 working again I would love to experiment with 48hz. One day, I would love to have a 9-inch set. But until then, I would love to get some good mileage out of this baby. Smile

Let me know when you can get the hair stains to be detailed, and then you'll get my attention, to add and once again, let us see backgrounds and maybe then I'll put the green cry in and we can play. But for now, you still have to out do the LCP on green, that has bad glycol. And I can also step it up

Producing a really sharp close up shot is really easy, but to capture and post an detailed shot that shows a lot of finer detail in background scenes, is not only difficult. It's also how we show true 1080p resolved. Not saying you can't do it, just that you haven't so far. Close up shots are really nothing more than standard definition. It's only when you can capture the finer detail in the backgrounds that it is high definition. I'm sure you can show them, I'm just wondering why you won't.

JVC HD750 ( AKA RS20 I believe) vs stacked 909's

Keep in mind the stack was turned on and pic taken so not converged 100%

JVC with new lamp in normal lamp mode with Iris fully open.

The contrast setting looks very different making it apples/oranges IMO. Note the highlight in the left eye. That highlight is nearly blown out entirely on the CRT and clearly discernible on the JVC.

A few more considering the projector has only been converged and has that Greeen LCP tube with bad glycol in a Lug projector, and the contamination can be seen on both sides in these shots.

I'm really only posting these as a part of testing the video chain so no performance criteria necessary

Mike are these pictures used to sell your boards and product?

If this is the case, I would pay to have your test mule professionally set up. Call Craig Rounds or ??

Huggy's 909 stack has more pop.. Greg's post with stock boards rivals what you have posted.

The August 17th pictures that you posted had such a green color hue..

Again, if this is your business to sell your ware, we should be seeing spectacular images. And the best hardware.. Canon or Nikon lenses, with an Oppo Blu ray player...

Disclaimer, just my observation over the years..

Look at the caption at the top of each and any of the shots I post. It will explain what is going on. I promise that after I replace the green CRT, I will then calibrate and from there on post better shots that should be really ready to be comparable to the calibrated shots that you mention. But for now, just be mindful that Mike is not posting calibrated shots, and they should therefore not be a good reference to compare to other shots.

Oh, I forgot to mention. Non of these point and shoot cameras will properly capture TRUE HD images. And because of that, it's really hard to show in screenshots what things really look like on the screen.

So comparing facial and up close shots to what I prefer, that is detail shots showing what's in the backgrounds, like wall texture and the ability to make out smaller things in the background. instead of the close-ups of faces, why not show shots showing what an entire (everything in a room or wide area) scene looks like to the camera lens.

Now my setup is really good at doing those kind of images, even in the condition that its in, though the camera is not that good at it. It still shines..Wink I go and calibrate it right now if that's also the goal.

I'll even dial it in better, if you can get stock boards to bring out that background detail, and any Barco 909 or G90 to also do so..

Mike you have missed my point.

Over the years you have "always" given the disclaimer that the picture isn't perfect for whatever the reason...

Back to the question.. If you are selling product based off your sale projector or DEMO projector>> the pictures should be spectacular with ZERO issues and zero excuses.. Today or 6 months ago or 2 years ago or 5 years ago..

CRT users have enough monies dumped into keeping our hardware running. I for one would like to see the best picture coming from you..

No, I got your point. But you haveto understand where I'm coming from on "screenshots"

believe it or not, they can be very deceptive, in that they can even be rigged to look better, when the projector is really running at low resolution.

I understand if I'm really trying to promote or sell more mods. I'm just too lazy for that, and would prefer to just keep posting as they are, but will make an exception and make things a little better from now on. Because things are no where near better right now, especially with the Blu Ray I'm using. I'll take a few more in a minute to show you what itt would look like by simply swapping the Blu Ray. Also be mindful that I don't own one of those really top end players.

dang, what the hell am I doing. No, I'll just keep posting as I have been, and since I'm not trying to push a sale, no need to do anything at this point.

But I will send the two people who contacted me a few shots so they would know there's a difference.

Well, a few have told me they are more interested in standard range Blu Ray players, and I agree. Because not everyone would be interested in going with the much more costly players.

But they are not also seeing the mentioned shots as being that much better, when most are still interested in seeing beyond facial shots.
